My name is Megan Oliver and I am your child’s Science and Social Studies (STEMSS) teacher. This is my sixth year here at Southwestern Elementary. My first two years I was a second grade teacher and then for two years I taught in third grade. I am also one of the math bowl coaches at SWE. I graduated from Franklin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I did my student teaching in a second grade class in Franklin. During college I officiated volleyball games and worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin. I have since gone back to graduate college and graduated from Wheelock College with a Masters of Arts in Educational Studies with a Focus in Elementary STEM.

STEMSS stands for:
Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Social Studies.
Throughout the school year we will focus on Science and Social Studies skills based on Indiana State Standards. While focusing on the Science and Social Studies standards, we will use technology, engineering, and math in a blended project based learning environment. Since students are 1:1 with iPads or Chromebooks, we will use the technology along with hands-on projects and activities.
